Why NoTourGuideNeeded?
It is important that when you receive travel advice, you consider the source. Is the advice coming from someone like you or shares the same interests? I have read so many blog posts by people who I did not agree with at all because we were just different styles. Consider all sources. Remember, your travel is about YOU, and only YOU.
So about me…
I am a 40 ish year old woman who enjoys cooking, museums and good wine. I am from Texas, born and raised but I would not consider myself a country gal. Houston has 5MM people in it so I a definitely accustomed to big city life.
My general philosophy is to just roll with whatever comes. We have taken MANY vacations where each day was planned and MANY where we had zero plans whatsoever. Both are great, but you get a different outcome with each.
The one pet peeve I have is that people spend so much money on tours that they do not need. Traveling is exciting. Don’t get bogged down in a set schedule. Just go with it!
NoTourGuideNeeded was created in 2015 during a trip to Cuzco Peru while watching a group of people on a tour. I thought: Why do they need a tour guide; all the information is here. Then I realized that traveling can be overwhelming for some. In my blog I write about tips to make traveling easier, places you should see vs those you should skip, and even historical accounts of places.
There are different types of traveling: tours, adventure, solo, backpacking. Then there is just the average person who wants to see the world and have fun. That’s us. Traveling doesn’t need to be as intimidating as it seems and you do not need to pay extra to calm your nerves.
I am happy to offer any advice you need. I am particularly familiar with South America, Paris and Germany and also have contacts all over the world.
I hope you enjoy my story section as well, where I write about our adventures.
